Anyone scene Board of the Rings 1 2 and 3?

http://gomni.dyndns.org/dth/index.htm

Natalie Portman needs a big fat "no" from Draper as much as Paris Hilton needs to be locked up 45 days, and Brad Pitt needs a reality check that it's too late to get back with Jennifer again even if we feel sorry for him Jolie played him all this time.

Unfortunately, I know people that wasted too much time dating her at Harvard - as many other Hollywood folk are, she is a confirmed as a self-centered jealous troll (in blogosphere terms I use the term troll) and she trashes Hollywood only as an arrière-pensée to get more eyeballs on her acting. The internet probably gives her that great "bigger than life" feeling she used to get on the big screen, and when she had more offers that is. The worst thing about Natalie Portman is she trashes many industry folk, actors/actresses in particular, for being lazy and self-centered people for saving dogs, puppys, and other hopeless animals in their spare time - get a look at the waste of time such a Natalie Portman My Space Portal will add to existence?? - ya, nuttin' is right! (right on, sstave). Yes, people will continue to befriend animals other than yourself Natalie, and you need to let go of your self loathing addiction before you can really contribute to the evolution of the internet.

The best acting in this world is done when the VC shakes her hand saying "This is so great Natalie, we should really build a start up around YOU Natalie and your acting and make a master site of all the Natalie sites of yourself already that you and your publicists have launched. The right lighting does make you look hot of course Natalie - we will be in touch! " - that's raw talent Hollywood wish they could own.

Or maybe it's time for Silicon Valley heavy weights and Venture Capitalists to sell their identity to Hollywood and cash out?

I think wikipedia is right on when they say: "People who get money for their looks should work in a steel mill for two years" - for Natalie a healthy start would be learning to clean dog poop off her shoes.

Personally I think this is farking lame.

Ya so natalie portman is hot - who gives a shit what she is running around doing on a daily basis.

What absout all those quotes she made about not giving a shit about fame/acting.... oh I get it - she's a sell out now?

Its ventures like this that continue to push the egos of VCs up into outer space.

'We know this only because one of Zachary's colleagues asked, rather indiscreetly, on Twitter: "How big of an audience do you think natalie portman lifecasting could attract?" '

That's your source? Come on!

I call bullshit on this one. First of all, Natalie Portman is one of the more private young Hollywood actresses. She seems to avoid being photographed by the paparazzi pretty well, and rarely talks about her personal life in interviews. Not likey to broadcast her life 24/7, is she?

And she has some talent. People with talent don't get into this sort of thing.

If you'd said Lindsay Lohan, well then I might have been convinced.

mclurker

@ cv - Oh, give it time. When the Valley sees it loses its ass on a few projects, the industry will recoil a bit I'm sure (though this early everything will more than likely do well - I'm talking long term). Will Farrell and a short is one thing to market online, something longer is another. At least for now. Celebrities are a big draw but as the articles says, entertainment has new competition and that'll continue. Not everything with a famous face will stick.

pillsandpez

How smart of Hollywood to finally get that they can create their own things and are reaching out to the tech VC to fund it. They finally get it! The gap is closing for people to take advantage of that industry's inexperience, that's for sure. Once the stars infiltrate the web beyond cheesy myspace pages, the rules are going to change a bit and opportunity for tech start ups to build in entertainment will drop.

pillsandpez

When did Sillycon Valley go Hollywood? Although Hollywood has been using CGI for years and years, if you need to assign a date, the best choice is summer 1993, with the release of Jurassic Park.

Sillycon Valley's place in Hollywood was cemented by 1995 with the release of Pixar's Toy Story, the first commercially successful full-length feature entirely generated by computers.

Zach has always had that Hollywood vibe going. After he made his first pile of money at VPL Research, he drove around in a black Dodge Viper. He was the Consumer Products Manager at MIPS, which really meant that he was the marketing guy for Project Reality (a.k.a. Nintendo 64) before he went to VC-dom (Mohr Davidow, I believe).
