I can understand Scoble's wish to support Kathy but at the risk of making this sounding like "but that's exactly what the terrorisst want" isn't he going about this the wrong way? The troll responsible for causing all this uproar would like nothing better than "and I got Scoble to stop blogging for a week" on his resume. I for one do not think that's the way to show our support. We should blog, discuss, and carry on the conversation.

soxiam

Obviously everything about this is horrible, and I sincerely hope that (a) nobody gets hurt, and (b) those responsible both grow up and get run out of blog-town. I'd like add one suggestion for the targets of the abuse, however: in the face of adversity or threat one can wilt and withdraw, or one can respond in strength knowing that you have the moral imperative and community support to take something stupid and lame and use it to make a positive difference for everyone.

That is to say: Kathy S - don't withdraw from blogging and the community, or the misogynists have won!
